She has been a case manager, counsellor, lecturer and trainer. She is currently working in Melbourne in her own counselling practice where she sees couples, families and individuals undergoing relationship issues, grief and loss, trauma and assisting clients come to terms with health related problems.

As a Clinical family Therapist, Annie has found the Brief Therapy and Solution Focused Models most useful in her work with couples and individuals. She is able to achieve maximum results in a short space of time Annie works from a number of therapy models but primarily uses a systems approach. This means that Family and Couple counselling take into account the people in the relationship or family and how each member relates within the whole System. In this type of therapy each member is asked to give his/her view of the problem. In Systems Therapy, using "feedback" from each person is paramount in bringing about change. In the initial session Annie undertakes a general assessment of what appears to be the problem. She looks at the dynamics and interaction within the relationship and seeks out knowledge about problems and successes, strengths and weaknesses in regard to the relationship. She also uses what is known as "A Solution Focused Therapy" approach to assist with understanding and facilitating change.
